hi, im 47 had a crisis june 2006 with no previous symptoms. was ventilated for a week. completely paralysed. Had tubes and machines everywhere. no-one knew what the hell was going on. my family thought i was a goner.. given immunogloblun along with every test and scan under the sun. EMG, Tension and blood tests positive after 2 weeks in ICU. commenced on mestinon and prednisone. another month in hospital learning to swallow, dress, walk etc. now on mestinon 2 - 3 hourly plus 1 x long span at night. methotrexate 20mgs weekly plus folic acid 3 days later. and heaps of other nutritional suppliments. had a thymectomy in september. not in remission yet but getting better i think. good to hear from fellow MGs.
update - mestinon lasting 3-4 hours now. switch to normal mestinon at night because of feelings like electric shocks in my muscles at night. doc says its coz im improving and i dont need as much mestinon. reduced prednisone again. feeling good.
