47 year old male firefighter from Margate kent.
Diagnosed with generalised MG sept 06 after getting droopy eye & double vision literaly over night.
Medication started at: 80mg prednisolone every other day + 1/2 pyridostigmine 3 times a day.
medication seems to be working well so far with no major side effects as yet.
05/02/07 Dosage changed to 60mg of preg's alternate days(20mg drop) & 2 Azathioprine a day each day, told i am now in remition. Peredostigmine is to be continued as needed.
14/4/07 Azathioprine stopped as it made me extremely ill, Back on Mestinon 100% improvement.
As at 05/09/07 reducing dosses of steroid NOW 20 MG, also placed on methotrexate i dose a week of 15mg plus folic acid three times a week.(due to feeling sick)
4mg of steroid now and no return of effects !!! fingers crossed. as at 2/09/08
Mestinon stopped November 2007 no ill effects.
8/10/08 Now down to 1mg of steriod, no Mestinon, still 15mg Methotrexate weekly on a Sunday.
