Born 1945 living in London First symptom April 2006 drooping left eyelid came on when driving. Not much change for 3 months although GP suspected MG and referred to outpatients. Second symptom 3 months later drooping right eyelid. Much worse than left eye. Again brought on driving car. One week later symptoms progressed to double vision, problems with chewing and breathing. In patient July 2006 MG confirmed after blood test (positive) and tensilon tests. Start Prednisolone 5mg a day for the first week increasing by 5mg each week to reach 30mg a day. Held it there for a few months and now reducing dosage slowly with mycophenolate mofetil (cellcept) as athe steroid sparer. After 2½ years relapsed after reducing to 8/5mg on alternate days.
