Age 37. Two sons 5 and 10 with CMS Acetylcholine receptor deficiency. Both boys use wheel chairs, 10 year old uses 45 mg Mestinon 3 hourly and 30 mg at 4.00AM and 5 mg 3-4 DAP 4 times a day. Also uses Nippy ventilator at night. Has needed intervention from ICU on four occasions. Now has open access to the high dependancy unit. 5 year old uses 20 mg mestinon 4 times a day. Both boys have trouble chewing/swallowing and their weakness fluctuates enormously throughout the day. Husband also has CMS. Works full time. Walks reasonable distances. 15mg of neostigmine 4 times a day. Occaionally 3-4 DAP (when talking alot) Go to Oxford once a year for review. Also reviewed at University Hospital of Wales at a muscle clinic.
