I'm 54, living in Detroit, Michigan. I developed diplopia July 2007. With a very slight period of remission, of just over a week, it returned with greater severity. No ptosis or other symptoms, only diplopia. In May of 2008 I started a program to improve my immune response, contrary to conventional therapy. Diplopia very slowly improved. Encouraged by the results, I continued with self prescribed therapy that improves the overall immune system as well as homeostasis. Improvement continues every day, little by little. My therapy now has progressed to injectable medication twice a week and again, so far I am very encouraged. As of Oct 2008, very slight diplopia to the sides (not peripheral) and much better straight vision, actually normal. I consider myself in a state of remission and am fighting to remove any and all symptoms. I should also mention that what I’m doing is not reckless or radical. If I need to go back on Mestinon or if I need to go on Predisone, I’ll have done everything possible to mitigate shortfalls and strengthen my body and immune system.
