One reason, and I think the most important, will be that unlike the Old Forum the New one will have an efficient filing system enabling users to search and find what they are looking for.
The Old Forum was, and still is, difficult to search and this resulted in the same questions being asked time and time again.
It says much for the forbearance of veterans who have continued to discuss issues that have been exhaustively covered several times.
I hope the Old Forum will remain readable for a good while yet so that all the wisdom collected over the years will not be lost forever.
And when topics arise in the New Forum the very best of the Old Forum could be copied and pasted into the New Forum.
