Does anyone else have periods of profuse sweating or hot flushes associated with MG or the meds? Maybe the two thingd are unrelated but around the same time as my MG started, so did the sweating problem. My MG has now progressed from the eyes after 5 years to the neck, jaw, shoulders and arms and seems on the rampage at the moment. If there was any way to tackle the concurrent sweating episodes it would certainly make life a bit easier. Thanks, Chris.

Hi Chris, I used to have the same problem and it turned out to be an over active thyroid (graves disease). It is autoimmune and it is quite common to have both MG and graves disease. Other symptoms include...increased appetite, weight loss, weakness, insomnia, tremor, palpitations, fatigue, anxiety and I think there may be more. It might be worth getting a blood test to check as it can affect the MG and vice versa. Take care, Rhona

If you are on predisone, that certainly seems to increase sweating. I always used to sweat a lot, but with the pred I find that once I get a bit too hot the sweat just poors off me. I also tend to sweat quite heavily at night on occasion.. I will wake up with my hair pretty damp and the pillow case soaked. I've a feeling this night sweating is associated with the nights when my breathing is a bit shallow. Afraid I haven't got any advice about how to handle the sweating. John ---------- Dublin, Ireland
