Hi Destin, Im no doctor but I took some antihistamine for urticaria last week (drug related) and my MG was worse the next day. Not sure if it was the drug made the Mg worse or just that i was tired from the antihistamine. What is the cause of your urticaria? maybe you could use some cortisone cream if other moisturisers havent worked already. sometimes its from dry skin. if thats the case maybe taking fish oil or omega 3 capsules might help in that department. Hope it settles i know how unpleasant that can be.

Hi

Just thought I would let you know that I take antihistemines nearly every day as my tongue swells and I don't seem to have any bad effects from them.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Hello
This is very interesting. Last year when I was on holiday I had very bad prickly heat on my arms and legs. This is the first time it had ever happened to me (and hasn't since). I am not sure if it will happen again and if it was due to didronel pmo I was taking (calcium supplement). That was the only differece in my medication to any other holiday I had been on. I consulted the pharmacist when I came home and was told piriton or antihistimines can interfere with mestinon and I shouldn't take it. That is just my experience and what I was told.

I was having prickly heat problems earlier this year and my GP and neuro both advocated the use of anthihistimines. I had no worsening of my MG and no other problems. I think the one i was on was called citirozine.

I've been taking cimetidine (for H2 inhibitor effect) for pruritis/urticaria for over 25 years and had Atarax added to this a long time ago. This drug is now out of production, but should be Ok by the end of the year. My GP substituted Telfast - an antihistimine - have had not Mg effects from any. The problem with the latter is there must be 2 hours between it and the cimetidine - so it seems I have buzzer reminders for different drugs going off all day (no just about 7 times) - glad I have O Grade arithmetic (as well as maths!)
